Mark Barton

Having spent most of my life working in the London maritime insurance industry, the last 40 of which as a Marine Liability specialist, including a six year period in Greece. During this time I have been both underwriter and broker, managing director of an underwriting agency, senior underwriter for two International Group P&I clubs, shareholder and director of two broking houses and managing director of two others.

During my time I have had articles published in all of the Maritime press, lectured to groups as varied as the Charterers Institute in Dubai to local broking houses in Kuala Lumpur. I have written, contributed to, edited and published P&I reviews for Godfrey Merritt, Heath Lambert, Windsor & Tysers. I have represented clubs at International Group level.

Most recently I have become an advisor and on line influencer for Avanti and Staysure, both are UK based travel insurers who wanted me to provide articles that promote cruising. Some of the articles recently published in UK main stream press and Cruise publications can be seen here:
